Welcome to the official blog of The Endangered Species Clothing Co. Khang and I started this t-shirt line in late 2008 based on a conversation we had about existentialism and individuality while in Boston. We’ve moved back to our homestate since then and are living in Oakland, California, and are still in the process of finalizing the designs on our shirts. I’ll post pictures of them later.
Our plan is to get the designs to the point where we are satisfied with them, and then print some out and take them to the various boutique shops around San Francisco and Berkeley. We don’t know very much about the t-shirt business yet, and so we’ll be chronicling our experiences as we start investing more money and moving forward.
Me personally, I wonder if we can make any money doing this stuff. Everyone has good ideas for t-shirts. I guess I’ll find out someday soon hopefully. So far we’ve put in:
trademark: $600
samples: $160
license: $200
Khang is a very dedicated designer (he’s the primary one for sure) and has spent countless hours in front of the computer putting these designs together. Me myself, I have put up half the money and have basically just offered input and support.
Anyway, I’ll update later with pictures and talk about the ideas we’ve had and the processes that we’ve gone through and the discussions that we’ve had.
PS Khang was looking over my shoulder this whole time so I didn’t get to say what I really wanted. That will have to wait until next time. == Alex
